How to Select a Large Format Printer

Wide format printers are generally the printers with a print width between 17"and 100". Printers over 100" mark may be called Super Wide or Grand format. Wide format printers are used to print banners,posters and general signage.
The Printers can be selected depending upon the requirement of size of the print. The factors on which a printer must be chosen are as follows:
- Size of the print viz 17(A2), 24(A1), 36(A0), 54 or 60 inch.
- Depending upon the use such as Fine art,Production,Photography,Proofing,CAD & GIS.
- Ink type such as Pigment(UV/light fast)or dye based.
- Speed of the print is different is for different applications hence it should also considered.
- Paper handling is also important such as Roll Feed,Take Up Reel etc.
- The size of Hard drive if it is included.
These are the parameters which one should consider while selecting a large format printer.
